this is the singularly most interesting, relevant, resonant thing i’ve read in a while. thank you so much for sharing it 🫶 i’ve been thinking a lot about “beautiful constraints” recently and it feels like these ideas swim in the same waters - i love the idea of anchors rather than structure, things that keep us tethered rather than weighing us down. i can’t wait to reflect more and put this into practice!!!
I saw the viral quote and landed here. Thankyou for writing what I definitely needed to hear. I think I knew it deep down and it felt serendipitous to find your page today. I will do that, yes I’ll do that too and that, yes, go to my desk write a routine. Then I got to the bottom and see the beautiful Hilma de Klint painting, my favorite, the postcard I have right on my desk. xx
Routines are good. I’ve started making a daily schedule for myself and I feel so much more grounded and stable. I also add naps and rest periods to the schedule. When you are recovering from burnout, that’s really important too.
I’ve always known I needed a routine, life felt like walking on a tightrope 100 feet in the air if I didn’t have one and I never understood why I couldn’t be more cool and spontaneous like everyone else! didn’t for a second consider it’s because I’m a creative and creativity needs the safety of routine! loved this read, thank you :)

You were meant to land here!
Wow!
As someone who struggles with ADHD myself, routines have always been a pain in my behind 😭😂
However I like the idea of tethers, especially since I find rigid structure exhating, and I think it may work for me, so thank you in advance 🙃
