#005: All's well that ends well
2021 Recap (Laura's Version)
In an effort to not echo most people’s sentiments of 2021—and to really express how I now feel looking back at the year—I’m here to say that 2021 wasn’t so bad…! It was a year of immense growth professionally and interpersonally but also a year of stagnation personally. It was a mixed bag of so many conflicting movements and realities. After an extremely tumultuous, ~unprecedented~ (are we still allowed to use this word) and quite horrific 2020, 2021 promised something different. It promised precedented times, the return of socialization, routine, fun. And while it feels like most of us accepted these promises, or at least attempted to, the outcome of the year offered an alternate reality. Where we thought the economy would begin to recover, we got the great resignation. Where we thought vaccines would solve all our issues, we got a seemingly never-ending pandemic. Where we thought we’d find ourselves reconnecting with old friends, we got an urge to purge even more people out of our l…
