#002: Feeling festive for the first time in a while

A lil note on the holidays and some pre-Black Friday deals you should have on your radar

This newsletter comes a day later than scheduled as I was out of commission yesterday (and today) after getting my booster dose of Moderna. This is one part reminder to schedule your dose and one part apology for already slipping on my second issue of my newsletter. I’m learning that these things take time and I’m learning new things about my brain while writing these issues!

Thanksgiving in New York reminds me of a very specific feeling: being an international student in college with nowhere to go and scrambling last minute to a) make a reservation at a restaurant and eat an overpriced (and often mediocre) prix fixe Thanksgiving menu or b) hope that any of my New York friends would invite me to their family’s home to feel any sense of homeliness this time of year. But there’s also something melancholic and beautiful about being one of the few souls who stays in the city during Thanksgiving.
